Purple Bear Princess

Reese loves to learn so much that we decided it was time to send her to preschool! So, she is now a purple bear and going to school one day a week! What a big girl we have!!

To prepare, we were given a purple bag and were told that we could decorate it in any way we wanted. Since Reese is currently such a princess fanatic, I knew that her bag had to reflect just that.

We had a few scheduled preschool related activities leading up to the first day of school such as an ice cream social and a playground day, which helped get her comfortable with her teachers and with the idea of going to school. We also started reading two new favorite books, The Kissing Hand and Llama Llama Misses Mama, to help prepare her for the big day.

Then, the big day arrived! Here she is posing with Logan before leaving for school.

She was so proud of her bag, and so excited for school. She kept asking where her teachers were.

Logan walked her to her class before going to his own classroom. When he got to the door of her classroom, he asked, "Are you going to be okay from here?" He is such a sweet, little gentleman!
Reese started off strong, but about 2/3 of the way through, she had enough, and asked to go home. At that point, she got a little upset. It sounds like several of the little ones got upset and played off each other's fears. In the end, I think she had a good time. She told me all about her day--the activities they did and the snack she had--and said she had fun. It was really neat to hear her so clearly tell me about her day. We are confident that things will get easier as the weeks continue and she knows what to expect...it is just going to take some time for her to adjust. Once she gets used to the routine, she is going to have a blast! We are so proud of our purple bear princess!!
