Life's a Beach

Daddy, Mommy, and Reese headed to Bethany Beach this year for a week of vacation. Reese was so excited to leave for the vacation. She talked about it for days leading up to our departure. It was a fantastic family vacation, allowing us lots of time together without the everyday distractions of life! We enjoyed lots of time with Reese, and because she napped so well each day, Daddy got to refresh, and Mommy got to read a book for the first time in at least a year! The family enjoyed some nice walks into town, walks on the beach, fun in the sand, and swimming in the pool! Reese loved the pool, but it took her a few days to adjust to the sand and beach. She was hesitant to go into the ocean, but after some coaxing, she ventured in with Daddy and decided she loved it. She disliked the sand on her hands and feet though. Daddy had to bring her a bucket of water so she could rinse off the sand. It was funny because as soon as she rinsed, she put her hand (or foot) right back in the sand and it got sandy all over again! One of Reese's favorite parts of the vacation was having "elevator duty". Reese also enjoyed rinsing off at the outside showers after coming off the beach. Our favorite one liner of the week was Reese saying, in perfect context, "Okay...relax" when we asked her to do something. This was usually followed by an eye roll. Aren't we about ten years too early for this??? In the end, we had a fantastic week together. All that anticipation, and it is hard to believe that it is all over already! Luckily, the memories will last forever...

Fun in the sand!

Cute and hydrated!
She loved the pool. By the end of the week, she was starting to brave the swimmies on her own. She just needs to master closing her mouth so she doesn't get so much water in it. Each time she took off in her swimmies, she got so excited that she would break into a big smile and thus, drink the water.
She picked out her own ice cream cone--chocolate of course. Daddy let her get a cone...boy was that messy. Good thing she was wearing brown!
